I had an excellent birthday yesterday, even if relatively quiet.
I had trouble sleeping past the time I normally wake up for work. It seemed like the perfect opportunity.
For backstory, while a wonderful housemate, Jessi is a problem when I'm trying to sleep. Especially if Sven is also awake. Whether comparing metal bands, sneaking down to the basement for "science time", or planning practical jokes, they'll find some way of waking me up. Usually it's not what they set out to do- but it's one of many common side effects.
For several months after moving in, Jessi wanted a weight lifting buddy. He'd wake up bright and early, and try to convince Sven to go lift weights with him. When he gave up on Sven, he'd try to convince me that it was a lovely morning to get up early and go to the gym.
At any rate, I was up before he was, on a mutual day off, and it was time for payback. Of course, I slammed down some caffeine and sugar, and bounced into his room.
An hour later, I'd drug him downtown for breakfast at the Roxy. Afterwards, the coffee wore off, and I crashed until a little before 5 PM. Jessi and I went out for sushi and book shopping. Afterwards, we met up with Alex, Kirsten, and Amber, and headed over to
lupabitch and
teriel's place for anime.
And much to my amusement, Amazon's recommendation system finally decided that just maybe the primary interest in my life was not Chiristanity. What did it wasn't the Friday/payday fresh round of orders. That really didn't change anything.
But Sven asks me to pick up just one copy of Gurps: Vikings for a game, and the entire religion section changes.
It's still not correct, but at least now Amazon.com is assuming me to be some flavor of pagan.
